Welcome to my Quiet Note
In this space, where calm moments meet inspiration, my hope is that these notes bring you a sense of peace, thoughtful reflection, and a gentle reminder to find beauty in the quiet.
Lovely Words
““Let us come alive to the splendour that is all around us and see the beauty in ordinary things.”

Hello my friend,
Here we are in mid-February, the heart of winter. This is usually the time I begin to long for warmer days and imagine tending the garden again. But I’ve been reminding myself not to rush ahead. Spring will come. It always does.
In this long stretch of winter, there is a quieter kind of loveliness that presents itself. I like to refer to it as my Winter Delights.
I have shared some of mine:
Those days when frost coats the landscape and turns the ordinary into something remarkable.
Spotting a tiny bird’s nest tucked in bare branches.
Curled, dried petals of a flower still clinging to it's stem, it appears to be dancing.
The new down coat I found on sale that feels like a hug on a cold day.
The stunning intricacies of a snowflake.
Boots with built-in spikes that make icy walks possible.
Laughing at Maggie, our sweet Lab, do zoomies in the yard. A sign of pure delight when she gets outside.
Knowing that my mom, well into her eighties, is probably out on the lake ice fishing and living her dream.
Neatly stacked logs and the scent of a wood-burning fire.
The deep hush that settles in while snow falls.
And my favourite — a single birdsong on a calm winter day. That sound always brightens my mood, to me it means hope.
What are some of your winter delights? Please share if you like, I'd love to hear.
Have a beautiful day. ♡
with love and gratitude,
Loralie
